Vision of the Graduate
Determined by a committee of almost 40 members of the Monroe school and wider community, these are the five competencies that serve as the pillars of our preK-12 program:

Students identify and address authentic problems with creative and research-based solutions. |

Students explore novel ideas and multiple perspectives to seek information, answers, or change in the world. |

Students collaborate, express ideas with evidence, and listen effectively for a variety of purposes and audiences. |
| Empathy and Compassion |
Students serve the community through a collaborative approach that celebrates diversity, unity, and kindness. |
| Social-Emotional Readiness |
Students develop integrity, flexibility, and perseverance through goal-setting and reflection. |
The district has designed learning progressions for different grade bands, templates for new curriculum documents, expectations for Vision of the Graduate experiences, and reflection documents for student checklists.
Beginning in the 2024-25 school year, students will be reviewing their work on the Vision of the Graduate competencies and adding Vision of the Graduate experiences to their personal portfolios.
